Nike Slingshot Irons Review
The Nike Slingshot Irons are the cool new kid on the block in terms of Golf Irons. They play well and are a decent price.
Nike has not been a big golf manufacturer for long. For newcomers to the game, that seems hard to believe. That’s because Nike did such a great job of promoting their golfing brand through Tiger Woods. Fortunately, Nike Golf is not just all about publicity and marketing, as I found out when I got my hands on these Nike Slingshot Irons.
Nike have actually got it right with these Irons. After a somewhat shaky history with Irons, they have finally brought their A-Game and produced a very good club. The irons swing well, feel good and best of all, don’t cost too much.
What makes this club unique to others like it is the ‘Slingback’. This is a metal bar which runs along the back of the head and makes your balls go much higher and faster. The ‘Slingback’ effect is also different on each individual iron, which means no matter which club you use, you’ll get just the right angle every time.
The slingshot irons have a nice big head with a big hollow cavity inside that gives the player a nice large sweet spot. The slingshot irons also have a nice and wide sole to prevent digging and have a lightweight graphite shaft. This shaft is good for the long game, as you won’t feel so tired by the last hole.
I have never met someone who has been displeased with this iron, and I know a lot of people who own this set. The only real downside is that the irons are quite bulky and do not fit easily into a golf bag. Despite this, they are quite lightweight thanks to the graphite shaft so aren’t that much of an inconvenience. On top of this, although the clubs are quite reasonable, they are not the best value.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a premium intermediate or beginners set of irons then this is probably for you. If you are a pro then you might want to look at another brand such as Callaway. I thoroughly recommend the Nike Slingshot Irons.
